QuitVox ("the App") is developed by Stringcode OÜ, registered in Tallinn, Estonia. QuitVox is a quit-smoking companion with an AI voice coach. This policy explains what data the App handles, why, and your rights. QuitVox collects far less than most apps: no account, no email, no name, no ads, no tracking.
Anonymous authentication: When you first open QuitVox, a random anonymous identifier is created automatically via Firebase Authentication. No name, email address, phone number, or Apple ID information is required or collected. All data below is stored under this anonymous ID.
Your quit plan: Your quit date, how much you smoked, the price you paid, your reasons for quitting, your chosen coach persona and language, and your daily check-in time. This is the core function of the App — computing your streak, money saved, and personalising coaching.
Craving and progress data: When you use the craving rescue and choose to log it: a timestamp, the optional trigger you tag (e.g. "stress", "coffee"), and optional intensity, plus counters such as cravings beaten and milestones reached. This is health-adjacent data about smoking habits; it stays under your anonymous ID and is used only for your progress screen and to make coaching aware of your patterns.
Coach messages and audio: AI-generated message transcripts and, for Premium users, generated voice audio files, stored so you can replay them without regenerating. Favourites and replay counts are stored with them.
Usage counters: Daily and weekly counts of generated messages and voice seconds, used to enforce the fair-use limits in our Terms and protect the service from abuse.
Subscription status: Whether your anonymous ID has an active QuitVox Premium entitlement (see Purchases below).
Device integrity tokens: Firebase App Check (App Attest / DeviceCheck) verifies that requests come from a genuine copy of the App. These tokens attest the device, not your identity.
Daily check-in reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device; they do not involve our servers.
When the App generates a coach message, we send our AI providers the context needed to write it: your coach persona, language, day number, recent progress (such as streak length and cravings beaten), and craving trigger tags. We never send data we do not hold — we have no name or email to send.
Coaching content is AI-generated encouragement, not medical advice (see our Terms of Use).
QuitVox Premium subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your card details. RevenueCat manages subscription state for us and receives App Store transaction information together with your anonymous user ID, so the App knows Premium is active. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore database and Cloud Storage) on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States and/or the European Economic Area. Where processing happens outside the EEA, it takes place under appropriate safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses. Firebase Privacy Policy
We process your data to perform our contract with you (running the App: plan storage, coaching, subscriptions) and under our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and preventing abuse (device integrity checks, usage caps). We do not profile you for advertising and make no automated decisions with legal effect.
Your data is kept while you use the App. Because your ID is anonymous, deleting the App from your device abandons the data server-side; we periodically delete data belonging to long-inactive anonymous users.
You can request immediate deletion of all data linked to your installation at any time by contacting us at the address below. Deletion removes your quit plan, craving history, messages, audio, and usage records.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the GDPR, exercisable by contacting us. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for us that is the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon). California residents have equivalent rights under the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information as defined there.
QuitVox is a smoking-cessation app for adults. It is not directed at children and must not be used by anyone under 18.
We will update this policy if our data practices change and note the new date above. Material changes will be flagged in the App.
